Are you a humble, courageous leader with a hunger to grow and a love for the Church? Do you have a strong desire to be a servant-leader for God’s fame and glory in the St. Louis Metro Area and across the world? Do you want a comprehensive learning experience that will effectively prepare you to launch into your next phase of life? If so, we would love for you to apply for the Trailhead Church Internship Program.
The Trailhead Church Internship Program is a two-year commitment that is open to men and women. The program functions much like any other professional residency would, giving real-world, practical teaching and training to emerging church leaders. It’s a chance for our residents to do ministry, hone their skills and learn how to be most effective for Christ. We craft a specifically tailored track for all of our interns so that they receive the experience, mentors and knowledge that are most valuable in preparing them for whatever career or ministry path they may choose. Our aim is to help you identify and implement the gifts and skills that you have been given for the glory of God and the good of this world.
Time Commitment and Fundraising Goals
Interns commit to serving for two years on either a full-time (40-50 hours) or part-time (20-25 hours) basis.
Interns are required to raise their own funds and must be at 80% of their goal before beginning the program. A Trailhead staff member will sit down with applicants to discuss their individual situation and determine a reasonable goal.
- Attend weekly meetings
- Serving or leading a Trailhead Community Group
- Serving or leading a team on Sunday mornings
- Weekly training sessions with Interns
- Provide theological training and guidance to Interns
- Provide regular feedback to Interns
- Prayerful discernment of exit strategy (guidance on what comes next after the internship)
The Trailhead Church Internship Program is selective. We want to invest as much time, effort and resources as possible into young leaders who want to serve in the St. Louis Metro Area, nurture the Body of Christ and bring glory to God both today and in the future. We want to invest in those who will invest in and lead others.
The internship program is limited to three Interns per calendar year (based on current staffing, subject to change). Application for the program is open from Feburary through June and internships start in September (or when applicant has reached 80% of fundraising goal, whichever is first).
The application process for the internship program is relatively simple. Just fill out our online application found here. We will review it and contact you if we think that you would be a good fit for our program.
Please email Brian Pacheco at email@example.com with any questions you have concerning the intern program.
Quotes From Current and Past InternsDuring the internship at Trailhead I have learned so much! One lifelong lesson is that I have humble confidence in the Gospel and because of this I can now walk confidently with what God has put before me. My ONLY hope is in the Gospel and I need a reminder every single day even when I don't want reminded. - Corrinne
The internship here at Trailhead has taught me so much about what it means to be in ministry, what it means to be a leader, and even what it means to be a follower of Jesus, but THE most important thing is that we need to have the Gospel carved onto our hearts so that with every heartbeat we can be reminded to rest in grace. - Ian
